I have long been an admirer or Signor Amato’s adventures and of his marvelous voice, which style has come back in vogue in this day, at least at the Glimmerglass Opera House in Cooperstown, NY. I look forward to reading of his latest adventure – though I wish he would comment on the Pope’s attack on American nuns.

Castrato singer is an element of Western music but, assuredly, the long history of castration as a weapon of war, in China, Sumeria, etc., established such singers earlier.
